8012-5 Series Tube Expanders

The 8012-5 tube expanders are a workhorse expander for rolling a more concentric tube joint especially when rolling exotics and thin-walled tubes. Covering a range of tubes from 1.3/4″ OD up to  3.0″ OD. These are a heavy-duty style tube expander covering three different reaches.

When rolling thin wall tubes, if using a three-roll tube expander you can experience triangulation between the rollers. This is especially evident when tubes are made of exotic alloys such as Hastelloy and Titanium. What you will notice is the tube triangulating between the three rollers then, due to the alloy retaining memory, it tries to relax back to its original size. So, using a five-roll system, this produces a more concise roll with equal wall thinning in five points rather than three, this making the perfect gas tight joint.
