Understanding Boiler Tube Expanders
Boiler tube expanders expand tubes to achieve a secure, leak-tight connection. This seals the joint between the tube and the tube sheet. So causes tube wall thinning, hence producing this gas-tight seal. Tube rolling motors, powered by pneumatics, hydraulics or electrical drive units. Thus providing the torque required. Expanding the tube fills the gap between the tube and the Sheet. The rotation of the expander draws in the mandrel forcing out the rollers.

Rolling Motor PTR-03
The PTR-03 is the powerhouse of our electric motors. At 120 volts/60 Hz., also available in 240 volts/50 Hz, these are perfect for tube rolling and expanding drive for fire tube and water tube boilers. High torque with slow speed. Variable speed and reversible motors make these the ideal choice.
Rolling Motor PTR-02
The PTR-02, available in 120-volt or 240-volt configurations. Built with precision including an incorporated torque controller, therefore giving concise, consistent rolled joints. The ideal rolling motor for tubes up to 2.0″. Can be supplied with any size of MT3 Mandrel drive to fit any type or size of male ended tube expander.
